We are very happy to know that this project that began one year ago is having a good end. What a nice news, the ultrasound machine arrived in Lagos! I can feel your appreciation for the donation in your words and want to tell you that you are very welcome. We like your charity very much and we hope many other countries in Africa were so lucky to have people like you that are the bridge that bring the help to the needy people of Africa.
Happy New Year, full of donations from all around the world, are my wishes for you in 2008!

It is very heartwarming to find that helping Africa is a priority. I'm glad that we all realise the immense potential of a
healthy Africa. One of the distinguishing traits between man and
beast, is the ability to sympathise with, and reach out to his fellow
man.
I believe there is a lot of potential in Africa, especially
a healthy Africa. Please keep me informed about your work, so I can
partake in anyway I can. |

I thought to write a few lines to commend you on 'Wish For Africa' initiative, it is such effort that is required and expected of us Africans if we are truly moving the continent forward. I believe in the simple principle of being his brother's keeper instead of pursuing selfish ends especially at the expense of many. I have enclosed with this letter my donation towards the work of the charity. God shall continue to reward you and your team bountifully, and protect you all always, and He shall also continue the great work He is doing through you. (Amen).

I am a Biomedical scientist and my speciality is cytology at UCH LONDON. This project, cervical screening programme, which you have started, is a dream come true
and it shall grow from strength to strength. AMEN. Myself and some of my
colleagues are very experienced in cervical screening and it would be a
pleasure to work in conjunction with you to set up an efficient and high
quality cervical screening programme in Nigeria and in other African
countries.
We shall surely get there and this screening programme will
turn out to be the best in the world. Our women will surely have access to a
very reliable cervical screening programme and the high rate of death
due to cervical cancer will be reduced tremendously. Keep up the good
work. I believe by the time this project is executed, the government
will realise how important every woman has to have a cervical smear
test.

For some time I have had an interest in volunteering, to treat and teach medicine in underserved areas of the world, particularly Africa. My only experience so far has been in Antigua and Cambodia but I am working to raise some money for transportation for future trips. My experiences so far have been quite positive but I particularly hope for opportunities in Africa south of the Sahara. Although I am a specialist in Neurology, I am refreshing my skills in general Medicine, particularly Infectious Diseases and HIV therapy.
I believe that training Doctors and other health professionals may well be more valuable than treatment but I am happy to do both. |

This is a long awaited project for Africa that I feel very passionate about. Since I heard Dr Femi Olaleye give an Impromptu speech at NUGA, I've been motivated by the whole concept that I've sung praises of this project on to other people as this is something that will definitely work! More grease to your collective elbows and may this be successful God willing!! |

As a final year student nurse at City University, London. With 21/2years experience with the NHS. I have come to realise that 'health is wealth'. I am really glad a group of people have taken a huge step to Wish the Best for Africa health-wise. In future, this project will be a stepping stone and a channel of blessing for me and other health care professionals, from the NHS to express our God-giving passion for Africa. |

Indeed a good initiative to address the plight of our fellow citizens around healthcare and to seek remedial strategies with regards to inequalities in health care acess/provision. It will be interesting to evaluatest the views of Nigerian healthcare professionals working abroad on the notion of 'Brain drain' as a negative factor impacting on the implementation of effective/efficient healthcare in Nigeria. |

This is a well-thought out and visionary project; a timely intervention for a medically challenged continent.
We must applaud the ethics, the humanism, the compassion and the bravery behind the conception.
For too long, the image of Africa as a hopeless and hapless continent paralysed by disease and poverty has scandalized the civilized world. And for too long, educated and concerned Africans, particularly those in the Diaspora, appeared helpless and dazed by the magnitude of the problem. Thus mutually reinforcing, with disability aiding disillusionment, the plight of Africa can assume the status of a self-fulfilling prophecy.
This is why a project like this deserves all the help and supports it can get. It is to be hoped that others will learn from its example and through such efforts we shall find the collective exertion needed to lift the continent by the bootstraps. I wish the organization well in all its future undertakings. |

Great venture and very commendable indeed. Please do not lose the focus. To every other African origin people all over the world (in diaspora) endeavour to be a part of societies akin to Wish-4-Africa. Remember “When a dying man cries, it is not because of where he is going which he knows nothing about, but because of what he wishes he could have done in the world he is leaving behind”. Well done thus far! |

I was motivated and inspired by your article titled 'I could not change my shoes as a doctor in Nigeria,. The key points that caught my attention are your calls for people to look inwards and to make positive contributions to Nigeria. All I wanted to recommend is - it would be good if there was a central co-ordinator for the doctors mission programs so that you can all share resources and personal experiences. We are also giving back to the community through improving the education at my Alma-mater 'High School' Comprehensive High School Aiyetoro in Nigeria. Thank you and God Bless |

Giving the right environment and resources; I am sure this organisation and its leadership will go a long way to revamping and advancing health care delivery in Africa.
Best wishes to WISH FOR AFRICA |
