WISH FOR AFRICA'S vision for the future

Our ultimate aim is to provide affordable and good quality healthcare that is geographically and economically relevant to the average African in their respective communities by building up a network of private primary care centres, working with local healthcare providers such as doctors, nurses and pharmacists.

As the numbers of the primary care centres grow, they shall serve as feeder units for the next phase of secondary or/and tertiary specialist hospitals. The low-pricing strategy shall make these facilities accessible to the average man who otherwise might not be able to afford such good quality care.

Our primary care centres are specifically located in low socio-economic areas where the needs are greatest.

We recognise the fact that many problems exist within most African healthcare systems but we have looked at achievable and implementable models to solve most of them. We have spent a considerable amount of time and money to set up experimental models in Nigeria, namely;

•  Optimal Healthcare Finance - A N10 Million Micro-finance Healthcare Fund (approx £40,000).

•  Optimal Pharmacy - A N2.5 Million (£10,000) retail pharmacy outlet in Lagos.

•  Optimal Medical Centres (Mafoluku and Ketu, Lagos) - N7.5 Million (approx £5,000 per centre) healthcare centre projects set up to deliver good quality primary care at affordable prices.

We have studied these models and learnt lessons along the way but more importantly, we have demonstrated the possibilities of delivering innovative yet cost-efficient healthcare in these communities.
